1) Name: Amy
2) Age: 22
3) Location: Missouri
4) Hobbies: reading, watching Disney movies, musicals, and old films, dancing, learning, traveling
5) Tell Us A Little About You: Just your typical Disney-obsessed girl. I was lucky enough to be born just as the Renaissance of Animation was starting, so I really remember all the great films being released, starting with "The Little Mermaid." The day my mom brought home the newest Disney movie was a mini-holiday at my house for years and I still get a Disney movie for my birthday, Christmas or both every year. Other than that, I'm in college, I work as a stagehand (and love it!) and I participated in the WDW College Program in the Spring/Summer of 2007. Anything else, please feel free to read my journal or ask!

Walt:

11) Why Walt? "Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought - sometimes it isn't much, either."

Someone who says that and really believes it- Why not?
12) Favorite Books on Walt: Walt Disney by Neal Gabler, Walt Disney, An American Original by Bob Thomas, Walt Disney and the American Way of Life by Steven Watts
13) How Old Were You When You First Took An Interest in Walt? 8. As I was walking to the car with my family and friends after seeing "The Lion King," I turned to my mom and told her that I was going to work for Walt and make movies just like his.
14) Were You Ever Criticized For It? Not criticized, per se- just misunderstood. Many people seem to think I have some sort of unhealthy crush on a 65-year-old dead man so I have to explain that it's the FILMS, the COMPANY and the original MISSION of quality filmmaking that I so enjoy learning about.
15) Favorite Quote: "Childishness? I think it's the equivalent of never losing your sense of humor. I mean, there's a certain something that you retain. It's the equivalent of not getting so stuffy that you can't laugh at others." —Walt Disney

Question: I've been thinking about making a comm about the artists that have made history in Walt Disney Studios (Fred Moore, Mary Blair, Bill Peet, the Nine Old Men... y'know the drill). Do you guys think I should fund it? Or it would be fine to post in this comm?

Anyway, thanks! ♥
